News To Share and A Card!

Hi all!  I know I have been very quiet as of late, but I have some news to share with you!  I was asked to be an instructor for The Art Studio @ Scrapbook News and Review!!!  How very honored I am that they asked little ole me!

So you may be wondering "What cha teachin?"  My first online class will be working with Prismacolor Pencils.  This is a little sneak peek of the character I will walk you through step-by-step.

I created several videos and PDFs that go into lengthy detail on coloring with Prismacolor Pencils.  If you would be interested in taking this class, please click on the button below that will take you directly to The Art Studio and my class.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  This is a totally new adventure for me!  I am so excited to share some of my techniques with you all!

Now for my card:

Yep, you guessed it...........colored all by Prismacolor Pencils!  The little stitch stamp is from LOTV as is the sentiment called Handwritten Phrases.

This little cutie is an image by Sherri Baldy.  I think they are so whimsical and scream bright cheerful colors!!! I saw my friend Janiel make a card with one of her images and it was so cute, I wanted to play too! I entered this card at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!!

Big hugs,

Dena

Still Playing!

I have been so intrigued with these mixed media canvas layouts that I decided to jump in and try one.

Now since I am practicing, I took a very old photo of my kids.  I know now that I should have added lots more textures and embellishments to really get the look I am going for.  Practice, practice!!!

I used lots of materials I already had and cut the letters out with die cuts from Memory Box.

This is a beer cap my hubby saved for me haha!

I found a few awesome trinkets from Michaels like the heart clock.

Ok, just to point out how darling Wade looks with Alyssa with his little head on her shoulder and arm around her waist.  He looooved his big sister and still does but now he is 6' tall and she is only 5' 2" haha!

Back to the layout.  I was inspired by LuvLee Scrappin and Butterfly Kisses Designs.  I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and had a ball! I hope to find time to make another real soon but with colors that will go with my house so I can actually hang it up!

Thanks so much for visiting me while I'm on my mixed media journey!!!

Two More Prima Doll Tags

My friend Christina has now got to see these last two tags I made, so I can show them to you guys!

The first one is inspired by Christy Tomlinson.  I took one of her courses online and using her dolls was a disaster, but then using these worked fine for me haha! It is so fun putting random stuff down and seeing how it turns out.

The second one, I was going for a more "clean" look, maybe a little card-style.  Both were fun and now I wanna make MORE!!!

I made a mixed media canvas layout that I will be showing tomorrow.  Oh, now that was super fun!

Thanks for stopping by.  I know this is different for me, but I have to get this bit of experimenting out of my system haha!  It's just too fun!

BTW, I got my Prima Dolls from Hopscotch Crafts, but his site is down right now.  Some people have found them at Ellen Hutson.   I jumped when I saw them available.  Now for some project making with them YeAH!

Something Different For Me!

Hey there everyone!  I am trying out my wilder side haha!  I have been very interested in some mixed media stuff lately and I am easing myself into trying out a few things.  When I saw these adorable Paper Dolls by Julie Nutting and Prima, I about croaked!  Had to have them and play.

This is the first one I have done.  I am swapping with my sweet friend Christina and made two others that she hasn't seen yet, so once she gets them in the mail, I will post the other two.  They are very different from this one.

I told ya it was different!  There are lots of whoopsies and stuff, but you learn with each one!

Here are the gorgeous tags Christina sent me.  She obviously has a better grasp at how to make them! I love them!  Thank you so much Christina!!!!

This is FUN!  Downright FUN!!!!!!  Can't wait to make some more using even more techniques that I am learning!!!!

Have a wonderful Cinco de Mayo day!  We are having a bit of a pool party today, so I better go get ready!!!

Good morning everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Today we are holding a Lili of the Valley design team blog hop to celebrate the launch of their gorgeous new Vintage Boy stamps.
There are 8 of the cutest images and they will be perfect for those hard to make cards for boys and .
The stamps will be available to buy on the website from midday on Monday 6th May (UK time) and you will also be able to get them at the Lili of the Valley shop in Leeds on Saturday (4th) if you are near enough to visit.

The LOTV design team are all joining in, you just need to ‘hop’ from one blog to another following the links and leave a comment on each card, hopefully we can give you lots of ideas and inspiration along the way for using the new images.
